Meet the Wood Group Gives Board of Directors
Inspired by the goal to help families thrive, these Wood Group employees lead our non-profit as we seek to give back and strengthen communities.
David Spradley
Interim President
David Spradley is a 2005 graduate of Texas State University where he studied Kinesiology and Business Administration. During his time in college, he met his wife of almost 20 years, whom he still adores, and has since been blessed with two beautiful children. David is a lifelong resident of Belton and is an Associate Broker with Vista Real Estate where he has specialized in residential properties, as well as farm and ranch sales, for over 16 years. He is an active member in his local church and has spent many years in fundraising efforts for several Christian charitable organizations that provide for various needs in his community. He is honored to serve on the board with Wood Group Gives and to be a part of providing relief, as well as home ownership opportunities, to families in need.
Alyssa Payne
Interim Executive Director
Alyssa Payne serves as a Branch Business Development Specialist for The Wood Group of Fairway. She graduated from A&M in 2001, then later from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2006 with a Masters in Divinity. She has worked in various churches, most recently serving as Director of Missions at a large church in downtown San Antonio for a number of years, helping local missions, as well as international partners, and organizing mission trips. She transitioned out of professional ministry into the mortgage world in order to focus more time and energy on her growing family, but is always thankful for the continued service opportunities she has by working for Fairway and The Wood Group. She loves living in the somewhat small town of New Braunfels with her husband and 3 children, exploring the outdoors, and being a part of her church. Alyssa helped organize, establish, and launch Wood Group Gives, and now serves as the Interim Executive Director.
Marc Wood
Co-Founder
Marc Wood is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he studied economics and later earned a master’s degree from Texas A&M University in industrial and systems engineering. Marc is a seasoned leader who served 20 years as an officer in the US Army before joining Fairway. Some highlights of his military career include flying and maintaining Apache helicopters, serving as a strategist and speechwriter for a senior commander in a combat zone, teaching systems engineering at West Point, and developing strategic war games at the US Army War College. Since joining The Wood Group of Fairway, he has redesigned group operations systems and expanded business infrastructure to scale for growth. He and his brother, Matt, share leadership responsibility for The Wood Group and live by the motto of Faith, Family, Fairway. As The Wood Group continues to grow and expand, Matt and Marc felt a strong calling to give back by starting their own non-profit, in Wood Group Gives, that would help individuals and families flourish, and thereby strengthen whole communities as well.
Brett Turner
Board Member
Brett was born and raised in Belton, TX where he still currently resides. He met his wife Allison while attending Mary Hardin-Baylor. They married in 2003, just before graduating college, and over 20 years later, Brett still says that Allison is the biggest blessing in his life. Brett is the father of two daughters and is a pretty laid-back guy that enjoys hunting & fishing, Texas Longhorn football, and cooking in the kitchen for his family and friends. As President of Monteith Abstract & Title Company, Inc. Brett was instrumental in starting the Monteith #GivesBack campaign. Since 2013, their #GiveBack Campaign has donated over $250,000 to local non-profit organizations in Bell County. One of Brett’s spiritual gifts is Acts of Service. Because of that gifting, he is excited to be a part Wood Group Gives and the opportunity to bless families in need across Texas.
